IDOP Director appointed as National Clinical Lead for Diabetes in Older People

Professor Alan Sinclair, who is a leading international geriatrician and diabetologist, has recently been designated as National Clinical Lead for Diabetes in Older People at the Department of Health (NHS Diabetes).

This appointment follows on from his leading roles in diabetes research, guideline development, national and international advisory roles, and his leadership of the National Initiative in Diabetes Care for Older People commissioned by NHS Diabetes.

Alan is Chair of the National Steering Group of the newly-established Older People’s Diabetes Network and is also Chair of the Older People’s Steering Group.
