Professor Peter Scanlon

Professor of Opthalmology

Peter is Programme Director for the English National Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Programme.

He provides a specialist service as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Gloucestershire and Oxford Eye Units and is Clinical Lead for the Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire Diabetic Eye Screening Services.

Peter is developing a research programme at IDOP in the area of visual loss in care home residents with diabetes. He has contributed to an educational DVD developed by the National Older People’s Steering Group of NHS Diabetes.
